On Saturday 21st April I had the pleasure of presenting the piping prizes at this years Edinburgh local mod, the first time that The Eagle Pipers Quaich would be competed for.
Edinburgh Local Mod is run by the Edinburgh Branch of An Comunn Gàidhealach. It is one of twenty provincial mods held throughout Scotland every year. Edinburgh Local Mod provides many opportunities for children to take part one of the largest Gaelic cultural events in Edinburgh. About 200 children take part in the wide range of events.
A great day was had by all and the judges on the day, Tom Speirs and Dughall MacNeill, had their hands full separating the wheat from the chaff. Here are the results and a photo of the winner of the EPS Quaich Angus MacPherson.
